I've been trying to find a solution for this and not having any luck. I've got an app that I have configured for different users within our company. The configuration is saved within a PLIST file. I want a way to be able to deploy this app and the PLIST file to all our users without me having to manually having to copy the PLIST file into their User/Library/Preferences folder, and ideally I would like it to automatically copy over for any new user accounts that are created on that Mac. I've been trying to use both PackageMaker and Packages but have not for the life of me been able to figure out how to get the PLIST file to install into the correct Preferences folder, I can only get it to install into either my local admin account on the system library folder. Would love to get some feedback from the community on this one.

Any standard package you make will install files globally by default. You could get clever with postflights to name every local account that exists today and drop in the needed preference file, but that wouldn't help you when a new user logs in tomorrow. That's where Outset will solve for: 'automatically do these scripts for any login' is a logic it can execute. Won't matter if that account was first logged in last year or comes next year, Outset will run the script, at a frequency (once, always, ect) depending on what folder it lives in.
